Key negotiation skills focus on the must haves for everyday interactions.
When we hear the word negotiation, people typically think of face-to-face aggressive boardroom takeovers like we see in the movies. Or perhaps an image of you and your employer sitting across a table from one-another with you trying to get a raise at work.
Negotiation is sometimes looked at as a knock down drag’em out fight!
That perception is the total opposite of what the focus of negotiation is.
Key Negotiation Skills Not Just for Business
Key negotiation skills are not restricted to business. Most people negotiate on a daily basis. We apply key negotiating skills in a lot of different ways that we generally don’t think about.
For example, we negotiate with our spouse or partner, our children, friends, and co-workers. We also dicker, another term for negotiate, when we look at major purchases like a house, condo, furniture, car, boat, RV, and more.
